Welcome to A Labor of Love, a premier doula service. Since ancient times, expectant mothers have sought out experienced and caring women to help them navigate childbirth. A doula is a modern manifestation of that same ideal. The birth of a child is a life-changing experience, one that brings with it both physical and emotional challenges. My sincere hope is that you will  cherish your birth experience forever.

Part o f my role is to encourage and pamper the new mother and help calm any fears that you or your partner may have.  There is nothing more exciting than the birth of a child and it is my goal to make each birth that I assist a memorable experience!

A Labor of Love provides professional services that are individually tailored to each expectant mother. I am available to attend births in Washington D.C., suburban Maryland, and Northern Virginia. Pregnancy is usually a joyous occasion, a time to enjoy and prepare for the growth of your family.  But if you are in a different country, pregnancy can be a time of worry without your mother, sister, aunt or other family members nearby to support you.  What to do?  Consider a doula!  

Doulas provide continuous emotional support as well as physical comfort measures during pregnancy and childbirth.   

For some women, this level of comfort also means finding a doula that speaks their native language.  A Labor of Love works with doulas that are fluent in French, German, Italian, and Spanish.  

Just because you are far away from your family does not mean you can’t get the comfort and nurturing that all pregnant women deserve.
